No one should be advertising or promoting the movie itself but it should be available to make up your own mind in regards to it. Personally I believe yes it should be banned from syndication and streaming services, however I think as a whole no it shouldn't be banned. There are some racist scenes and moments (tar baby for example) and yes it portrays an innacurate representation of slavery around that time but it's a Disney movie, is fictional not factual, taking a step back and just objectively reviewing it as a movie itself it's a fine outing, the songs are catchy, the animation charming and the plot memorable. It's fans say no, it's a happy whimsical movie with good music plot and animation, adapted from a book from those days

It's detractors say yes, it glossed over the true story of slavery and white washes the situation to portray a different narrative of well treated happy workers that simply wasn't the case That's something that has be a hot button issue for some time

So the question on everyone's mind is 'is this movie racist?'
